“Don’t try to fight, girl.”
“They want you to break.”
“Bottle your light, girl.”
“It’s the first thing they take.”

“Don’t try to run, girl.”
“Don’t try to hide.”
“This won’t be fun, girl.”
“Your parents, they lied.”

“Society’s here, girl.”
“You must conform.”
“Can’t be a queer, girl.”
“It’s not the norm.”

“Maybe one day, girl.”
“You can be yourself.”
“But do what they say, girl.”
“Keep your soul on the shelf.”
