Spontaneity

by Joe

The immediate feeling of dejection is suddenly overpowered by a
deep, intense fury,
rising powerfully as the sun,
growing and spreading like a flame from a spark.
Just as suddenly, it explodes,
all the bottled-up rage,
all the suppressed hatred,
unleashed in one glorious, searing inferno.
In this moment, its magnitude eclipses all other matters.
Though this is one instant of many, it is, in itself, the only instant.
Yet the return to dormancy is just as swift as the eruption,
and nothing has changed.
Nothing at all.
