Was it Once Upon a Time?

She dreamed him.
Forever, she dreamt of him;
Remembering.
A tangible force calling to her;
She could hear the almost-sound of his voice,
Pulling toward her from somewhere,
Some-when.
He was never quite close enough to hear,
But always she listened.
In her darkest darkness,
He was the warm ember waiting to ignite
And engulf her;
Rebirth her like a phoenix.
As if waking from a dream,
- A warm, sensual dream just before
Stark white consciousness
Washes the warmth away,
And a split-second after the dream fades
- This was how he called to her.
A smoldering red promise sent
From his soul to hers;
Comfort
And hope
Were coming.
It was a call to wait for it.
Wait for him!
And she did.
Not knowing where or when he existed
Or even who he was;
She waited,
Because she remembered him.
