A Great Hour

There is an hour that pours in me
Of light divine a stream;
My heart is lifted suddenly,
My soul begins to beam.

My heart is flint, and forth it sends
A mighty stream along;
My home — the earth, all men — my friends,
And life — a lover's song.

In that great hour of happy mood
My faith in God is true;
I thank my God for all things good,
And for the others — too.
