If you can make life brighter
For just one soul each day;
If you can bring some sunshine
Into someone's dark way;
If you by word or action
Can make one life less drear,
Someone will be the better
Because God placed you here.

If you can speak of Jesus
To just one erring heart;
If you to someone downcast
Fresh courage can impart;
If you by word or action
Can lessen someone's pain,
Or bring some soul to Jesus,
You will not live in vain.
