On a cold night, far out in the west,
I found myself in the desert.
Having witnessed cruelty to the crest,
By the traumatic effect of the scorching sun,
as it turned the king in me to a pawn.
At the moment in time, I yearned for a kiss,
The feel of the nights breeze, Nothing but a tease.
A droplet, all that my lips craved,
Else, death if a way could be paved.
Whence I laid, on the bare sand,
As the wind toyed with my soul,
And darkness crafted her nightmarish plan,
I was to be at war with life's greatest foe.
But prevail, I did not,
For as modest as I was,
My weaknesses,
I could not but flaunt.
