In the beginning, there was an abyss.
And seeing this emptiness,
God created the Heavens and the Earth,
The sun, the stars, and the moon.
He looked at this creation hearth,
And knew that it was good.
Seeing a lifeless land,
God filled it with all manners of living things,
From the creatures that roam the Earth,
To the fishes that swim, and at last, he created Man.
He looked at this abundance at hand,
And knew that it was good.
God saw that Man was happy and free,
Enjoying with glee the bounty of life and nature.
But a happy man has nothing to pray for,
So God created Woman to bring him to his knees.
He saw Man’s misery and prayers,
And knew that it was good.
