It takes a sibling  to sense her brother’s needs this day of days when futures are at stake.
Graduation end point,
School of excellence,
marks assigned by dons with cool detachment.
Ray of light, ray of hope, the twinkle in my sister’s eyes as she scoured every moth infested drawer within  grasp.
Guardian angel, curator, organizer and locator of a thousand bone ups.
To dos on sticky paper, insights on forgotten files and other motleys waiting to be culled.
Tattered lecture notes, well thumbed references, scribbled lines on refill pads or jotters,
themes revised at countless intervals.
My sister’s voice has always been a constant, a solid rock through
years of endless toil and hard-won flair.
Many’s the midnight coffee we both shared when crouched beneath  some  floating arm light, without  crib or cob.
Memories flooding back in visual bursts at breakneck speed.
Guffaws and hearty groans abound  at gaffes in early tests.
Canny probes, mouse trap phrases,  hidden lures about the hedge - setting off a wave of wrinkled brows and squirming faces.
How my sister smiled upon the wily worded wrong footer,
the booby trap behind the cheeky pry,
the snare that made a patsy of us all,  novice and veteran alike.
Reflecting  on times  past,
rose tinted folly or
distorted mirror on the task ahead.
A final glance at tips from other students, a final scan of teachers would be hints, a final flick through memory aids of one kind or another  before parting.
Pulse rates hurtling  over hurdles,
heartbeats on a Himalayan high,
blood pressure readings rumble rafters.
Despite  the inner storms, a glowing beacon
has her say.
Oh sister of many moons,
one light peck
might keep us both within each other’s orbits as another passing out proceeds apace.

Explanations
I used the word sibling at the start for sister.
I did this to avoid repetition.

Motleys = a variant on motley.
I made it up.
The hedge reference is a metaphor for surprise in exam setting
Hedge as fudge
Floating arm light a reading lamp
