Infinite is our universe
Ten thousand Milky Ways, Orions, Cassiopeias
Beyond imagination, blue, gray, invisible, infinite
I fasten in my seat, here
Visualize the portend heavens cosmic power
A helpless traveler in my mind, grandeur of constellations
As an early voyager, but at lightning speed
In heaven’s time and mine
Too vast for my mind to comprehend
How many star constellations?
Born, shine brightly, dim, explode and eventually die
For like our loves on Earth so nature’s crescent blanket ever to hold
Let’s not forget Zeus, the King of gods
who rules the heavens,
the clouds, the rain, thunder and lightning
Or Uranus whose body formed the dome of the heavens,
or Iris, goddess of rainbows and divine messenger of the gods,
or Atlas condemned by Zeus to hold the sky aloft
We can but grasp its magnitude of the firmament
Changes with disappearing time course
We can all marvel know it’s there, untouchable, immense
Sparkle, brilliant, magnificent, unknowable
And feast again on fireworks of stars beyond
Each so big, barely can embrace it. Wonderful.
You question what is there? Magnetism? Light?
I marvel at the glistening night sky.
Profuse, jammed with sparkling stars and planets.
I’m down here on earth – stars are magnificent
unbelievable wonders of all those heavenly creation
yes, I love the earth and the gift of heaven in all its daily splendor
