The moments of celebration in the shadows-
the life, the felicity, is gone,
Thought of a dream that you were here,
a rushing moment of laughter
from yesterday's birthday parties,
First, on our knees, then we curl tightly
on the cold tile floor,
hungry, but can't eat,
sleep tries to slip in-
but thunderous titan waves of sorrow
crashes into our exhausted minds.

For the missing,
we are humanity's heart-
that beats in echoes throughout the Earth,
we can't catch our breath,
our lungs ache,
whispered wishes and prayers for you,
The songs we sung together,
still sweetly sonorous to us,
Hope, please hear our pleas.

For Casey Hathaway, and all other missing,
home awaits you.
