Admit it, you're asking for trouble
when you admit to writing poetry.

The message is always very clear:

"I am an emotionally unsteady
creative person
that has carefully arranged
deeply personal
and socially awkward intimacies
which I am about to
lay on you here and now."

And thus commences
an evacuation,
perhaps a seemingly casual glance
seeking any cause
which can be offered
to explain
the empty space
that will replace
the one that your listener
occupied
in 3, 2, 1,
before you impressed them
with your writing talent.

That is just fascinating!

I, myself, am clairvoyant.
Care to know
what's going to
happen ...
next?
