Like Abiku,
These bangles cast their charms in vain
A rejected soul ?
Behind the enchanting nourished rind
is a free flowing fountain of tears, held spellbound by society's notion
Layers of smiles, a rosy bouquet of
embellishment
Discreet chains tightly hugging his soul
That wonderful soul
Lips testify of its uniqueness
The end draws near for him perhaps
Will Okigbo* wait at heavens gate?

Weep not
If the scythe visits him before a mirage of hope

Fate is a music for all, all for the music
Its lyrics gallop with bitter sweetness
Tread carefully through this jungle of words if you can,
and find him transfixed at the precipice.

*Christopher Okigbo is a vibrant Nigerian poet who died during the civil war, his poem collection Labyrinths still puzzles scholars till date.
