GRANDCHILDREN

by MaryPP

They run around the garden
And ask me to play
It’s so good to see them
I’m delighted when they stay.

Chasing and skipping
Hiding behind the tree
Outside or inside or
Let’s watch a DVD!

Four girls and five boys
Nine grandkids to see
Now four are over twenty
And the youngest is just three.

Days are so pleasant
Resting now and then but
Holidays are over now
So it’s goodbye again.

A delightful poem which flows effortlessly with lines weaving in and out of each other. Touching undercurrents about relationships, time, and the simple joys of life. “Chasing and skipping hiding behind the tree” and “holidays are over now so it’s goodbye again” are potent in the context of this work. Wishing you the very best with this, MyNAh_27
