Animals Were A Dead End

Animals Were a Dead End

the forest,

having engulfed the world,

claws up with twiggy fingers,

some broken in the passage

of satellites, autoshuttles, dirigibles,

each is slowed, caught, twigged

down branch by branch,

engulfed, dissected, pondered

by brains of cinnamon,

of nutmeg, and of pepper,

convoluted, massive, ancient;

slow thoughts, indeed:

these things had makers: find them,

also, learn to fly.
