Come to Nature
Let us stroll through the garden
that God has given us…
perhaps not Eden, but our own.
With roses blooming on the fence-line,
and dandelion clocks to tell the time.
The primroses peep shyly forth
to announce to us that Spring is here
and then fade under April rains
as she makes herself at home.
Ah, to sleep under star-lit skies
and be one with the natural world
around our mechanical constructs.
This is a wish devoutly to be courted
if only for a brief contented hour.
