Death's Gift

How many deaths can you die
Shred like stardust upon the sky
To find yourself upon grasses free
A child who’s smiling out to sea?

And how many waves that sprayed
From rocks unforgiving to rivulets played
In pools with shrimps and anenomes
Crashing into your memories?

And so the daydreams fall
Clattering into a wall
To death you bring your youth
From death you take only the truth
