Head of Waters

Head of Waters,
For 30,000 years peaceful, undisturbed
Until the First Fleet, 1788
Convicts, sailors, leaders
Greeted by men;
Aliens, covered in colour
Infected by nature
White smothered the land
Destroying, building, killing
Not thinking, not caring
Black rebelled, but failed
And fell by the flintlock
White still overtakes today
Racist, wrecking, ruining
Still White try to fix their wrongs
Yet interaction remains scarce
Angry, desperate
Like a pleading man
Sorry, grieving, cruel kindness
But to no prevail
Black will not forgive
Nor will they forget
Until they feel the same
Take their children!
Starve their families!
Destroy their land!
So that they may relate
