Her World
Crayons and pastels, all bright,
color her picture-perfect world.
Splashed with hues of happiness,
bordered with unreality,
no shadows or solid lines
in her picture-perfect world,
no room for tears
in her palette of false emotions.
It’s easy to be a princess
in her little realm,
so hard to be a prince.
Leave your pencils at home
your colors aren’t welcome,
don’t mark her canvas of insincerity,
don’t ruin her collection of lies
or the colors will run
in her picture-perfect world.
