Maybe Tomorrow or Someday

Dreaming sweet dreams
Living a nightmare
Sleep is an escape
From the horrors of reality
Hours of night to savour
Till daylight steals the peace
To ourselves, we say;
Tomorrow would be better
Then it comes in repetition
Of yesterday's pain
Then we say again;
Maybe tomorrow holds the promise
Happiness, joy, peace
But then it comes again in circles
Pain, grief, sorrow
Then we say again, maybe tomorrow
Or the day after, or the day after that,
Or next week, or the week after that,
Or next month, or the month after that,
Maybe someday soon.
But one thing remains the same
The hope of someday.
