Melancholy State

Beware, I am in a melancholy state
Shadowy, slightly depressed
Love not touching, cheerful,
Rather despondent – I search, I want
I feel a bit morose, rejected
The stimuli is wilting –where to express

So in this two world stage
Beauty and devastation at opposite ends,
Like a magnificent butterfly
Or an aubergine aromatic rose
I search, I see, I search some more
“Come to me” my inner beg,
“Love me!” Share the empty world
Write about happy buzz – but me

So I wander from room to room
Frustrated but always spry
I see the happy poodle approach
His wiggly tail, black and white
Somehow this is infectious,
Music rings out merrily, with gusto
So change of heart, of feelings
Into the open air, the positive world that I love
