Mountain Top
A mountain top that can’t be reached
Can’t be seen through the clouds
Hazy fog blocking the view
Blocking any opportunity
To get to you
Standing in the grass below
Longing to climb
Blades of glass shredding each foot
After each hesitation
As I step back to the ground
Moving up higher leaves burns
Blistering my hands
Your flame is too strong
To keep fighting
My shield is worn
Tearing at the seams
Weak from constant damage
Maybe finding you again
Will break me this time
And this mountain top
Might be too high to climb
Because missing you
Is made worse with goodbye
