NO BABY

by MaryPP

Expectations, boy or girl
Loss, silence, gone,
Don’t talk about it.

A teeny baby form
On a small dish
So perfect but never lived

Fast forward forty years
Another miscarriage
Sad disappointed parents
My eighth grandchild

Such sadness and mourning
Grieving and talking
Suddenly I was mourning too
For my own little angel

This is one of the most moving poems I have ever read. A heartfelt, haunting, work of lasting quality. A teeny baby form etc is poignant. Fast forward forty years another miscarriage is a very well written line sustaining the emotion in this piece. Well done, MaryPP. Wishing you the very best with this entry, MyNAh_27
