This Pilgrim

Radiant day warms my skin,
patience returns from where it's been.
if i see through childlike eyes,
comfort awaits in sunlight's rise.

i know there will be better days
when old paths have gone away.
and if my sight should turn awry,
abiding trust shall be heart's tie.

should I show disdain for hopeful sky
and decide right then i can't get by,
or build a castle on a million sand grains
only avoiding for now certain rains.

I shall not fear rills over stone
where wandering mind leaves me alone.
and try to keep stride in frenetic pace,
and finish strong this pilgrim's race.
