Poetic Justice

Poetic justice
The words conjure an illusion
The evil receiving their deserved
retribution
An interesting
supposition
For I would surmise
It all depends on one factor
Which side holds the pen
Whose hand writes the poem
And their concept of righteousness
For not all would wield with equity
given unlimited power
the judge often chooses a different role
that of sadistic scribe
writing her sonnets with the ink
of her enemy’s blood
