The Price Of Happiness

There is no known formula for happiness
Though so many have tried to attain it
So much so it has driven some to madness
It is not enough to be funny or full of wit

I once knew a man who got to this level
He was so happy nothing could ever make him sad
Many people decided he was simply the devil
The rest of us who knew him, just thought him mad

Oliver was his name that crazy man
I once saw him laughing when I took a walk
I froze wide-eyed when he smiled at me and I ran
For Oliver was known to laugh, chase and stalk

So is this the price to pay to be happy
For no one wanted to be like dear old Oliver
No one wanted to be thought of as crazy or creepy
Now when I think of such happiness all I can do is quiver
