although, while ease of movement slows
under the crushing heel of the element
of surprise, we greet age, an artist
painting with pain. Time smooths
and erodes youth into ever-
wilting sarcodes, a fading
polaroid making the
dragon a fly, but un-
like the stages of
that creature's
lives, we are
