26th Weekly Poetry Contest winner: Poem #463

by Holdfasttodreams818

Just a poem

Just one in four hundred sixty three

What is one in four hundred sixty three?

What significance is one?

Not just a poem, Anything, Everything

Just one more

Just another grain of sand on the beach

To be taken away by the wind soon

To be forgotten

To be discarded

To be looked at years later with a laugh

One more poem in a collection of hundreds

What makes it stand out?

Only characteristics all the others can match

What is the meaning of it’s existence?

It’s not important

It won’t be remembered

Why not just take one out

One grain taken from the beach does not matter at all

But without it 462

If you were to erase one, Why not them all?

Because, without the sand there is no beach

462 is not a number really

It’s just 462 separate 1s

A beach is not a beach just lots of sand

One in four hundred sixty three, is how it has to start

You may be one in millions but, you are one and that’s all a million is
