170th Weekly Poetry Contest honorable mention: of nothing grown

by C. Ciregna

from blood-boldened buds
from somber spells cast
in clear streams beneath
the grave looks of heaven

grieve no more, for,
when day's bloom is spent,
another heart will bleed
for a birthplace lost forever

walk along -
having burnt old bridges,
now squeeze the arteries:
a new vintage
