AN AWAKENING

AN AWAKENING

We have a tryst with life
Someone must cower before faith
Or else forsake the path of glory
And when honor shan't be weighed
On the scale of profit and loss
Man would have come to pacific terms
With the shortness of this episodic venture

For a while if the struggle for opulence
Could be assigned to rest before dusk
The treachery we made up
Would haunt our transitory moments
An awakening would confront us
Then salvation will meet us in this very swing

Someday we will dab the past
In colors we are yet to set eyes on
We'll agree with how goals take long
Before meeting us on the shores of reality
In the end, the price isn't immortality
It is an eternity waiting to be named

The tags on our images have no value
Than the very precepts we have kept for ourselves
And when humans will trade relations for glory
What remains is a dust storm of littleness
That blows our essence far into the wildness

An awakening will come to us and we'll own it
It will come in radiance of the morning mist
We'll begin to feel it welling up in us
Covered in truth and strengthened with faith.
