Believe in Yourself

Believe that you can tell a handsome tale.
Push your pen across the white blank page.
Believe the world created will prevail
Against the angst that will invade your stage.

Believe the sun will never rise again
Until the world you have created wins
Against the hopeless fear. Against the pain
That comes along just as the tale begins.

Believe. Then sleep, and maybe dream. And in
Those dreams live and laugh and love.
And to escape the post-modernist din
That drowns and keeps away the sky above.

Believe the tale of love that dances through
The words on the page. Believe it to be true.
