Bicycling to the Stars
Over the moon and towards the stars
A train did not get me this far
I cling on tight to handlebars
Will there be life on Jupiter?
I chose to leave my home alone
Mom and Dad will soon find me gone
An empty bedroom light will shine
I will not forget you, Mother!
Riding around on Saturn's rings
I brake abruptly -- my tires sing
I know not what tomorrow brings
Yet I'm a boy like no other
A letter sent to friends below
Has many photographs to show
One day I'll come down to teach how
I cycled in the sky this far
One day I will return to Earth
When life is done I'll seek rebirth
New body, spirit, mind, and teeth
An alien life I desire
So goodbye to the Milky Way
And come again a sunny day
It's been all work and little play
Under the clouds I find shelter
