Coming Home
He was born on the mountain but left young.
Far too soon for it to imprint
its full measure of ruggedness on him.
He always felt the loss
Yet, his body expected to return home
even if his heart was unaware.
In the end he will go back to the mountains
uncertain they will accept him
after all this time.
