Homesick At Heart

Late at night,
While trying to
Fall asleep, a sudden
Realisation hit me.

I can feel homesick
Even when I'm here,
In my homeland,
Homesick for you.

Though it sounds silly,
That's the honest truth.
I just miss you and I can't
Escape that curse.

We live in the same city,
Yet you're miles and miles
Away from me, both
Physically and emotionally.

We might be in the same timezone,
We might speak the same language,
But we've turned to complete
Strangers over the years.

Strangers at heart, strangers at mind.
Nothing connects us anymore,
We drifted apart, looking for our
Safe haven somewhere else.

Dear Poeter, Thoughts that bother the mind are all about the likes and dislikes of this life that are determined individually by man. The wounds of time and the tears of nostalgia continue to touch the struggle over realities. The reality of this life is that the thorns are like flowers in the garden of the heart.
