Hummingbird

She kissed the flowers and waved them goodbye,
from yon fields to a nearby house.
With her little wings, she flew,
to a small garden, next to the herd of cows.

“Oh, there you are!”, said a boy behind the curtains.
Ran to the garden with full of joy.
He left the window open in a hurry,
had nothing in his hands, but a toy.

She touched every flower, then flew to the others,
but sat on one in the pot on the sil.
She was small but fast,
like a car on a mountain going downhill.

The boy ran softly to the garden,
hides behind the herd.
He said, “Oh you beautiful, you little creature.
No wonder why they call you hummingbird”
