Laying In Atmosphere.

My sit on my roof, the wind cradling my shoulders, the stars
sat atop my head. I watched the lights flicker off in the buildings scattered around me. I listened to the sounds of yawns and heavy eyelids shutting as mine peeled back, wide awake. I loved to lay on my back and count the same fifteen stars over and over again. I couldn't seem to get passed fifteen. The others just didn't twinkle the same. I dreamt with my eyes open, painting pictures in the blue-black sky. I didn't attempt to sleep out here like I did on my bed. I would toss and turn in a pile of pillows and blankets and my mind would toss and turn just trying to memorize those fifteen stars. Here I lay still, exhausted but untucked.
