Lovely Or Lonely?

The answer's changed.
A change of pace
Is what I crave so I'll jump right in.
The brush of fog and dust of dirt
Is all the welcome that I get.
The marks I leave are all my own,
A single pair of starting steps.
These brand new eyes look towards the skies
That know the lengths of where I've been.
Wise purple shade and glowing haze,
Strung with the brightest of the lights,
It's never looked like this before,
I came at just the perfect time.
The woods I wander throughout
Have all grown out
To rival the space of their confines.
A chilling night, the silence bites
At hands that threaten to break the starving quiet.
The stillest lake in my walking wake,
The water inside is clearly alive.
Through grass I wade, that chases my face before I can make it to the other side.
Into expanse of land and-
Well just that.
The air is enticing in its grasp.
It strokes my lungs
And burns the bones of all the memories I thought I had.
To the edge I stride and stand,
To stare and scrape into my brain.
Along the hills, they look like veins.
The highways weave and ride without control.
They know not a single soul.
The world's so peaceful, I'd forgot.
But where did everybody go?
