Red Velvet Bag

I stroll through the plaza
Lost in my distress
A bark nearby
Interrupted my thought of drama

I peered through the frosty window
Admiring the adventurous animals
While smiling unconditionally
One of them could be my own little hero

I took a drag then slipped my hand into my red velvet bag
Only to find loose change and a stick of gum
Along with sadness
Followed by an ungrateful hum
I turn to continue on my way
To hopefully find
One day
Something to fill my red velvet bag
