Sky-light, Vermilion, Black

Its voice floats before it shows
it is chameleon.
Powerful, vibrant towards its goal,
static rocks watch as they crumble
before a water’s reunion.
Its foam is its lifeblood.
Guarded by infant trees, it aligns and divides
yet is always one,
creates symmetry, spreading
from the very rocks that form it.
Nourishment needless, it is energy itself
replenished by one-way waterfalls
whose hearts are hidden.
The river has witnessed time,
remains unimpressed.
