75 Fear Conquered, by Faith -

fear conquered, by faith.

Sometimes with David, I doe say
that I shall one day fall
And be ensnared, in my way
by the hand of this Saul

Saten doth Joyne, his force with sin
my soull for to undoe
Using all meanes, that he may bring
it into dismall woe

Sometimes he doth, soe hard oprese
I'me ready to recoyle
Leaving the feild, as weaponlese
thinking he will me foyle

But faith gets up, & doth espy
A Christ within the feild
And then crys out, my sin shall dye
I will not, to it, yeeld

For shame my soull, doe not draw back
nor from thy coulours flee
Thou needst not let, thy courage slack
worsted thou canst not bee

The Captain of Salvation
for thee the sword doth weild
do thou but stand, & look upon
him. he will clear the feild

Christ has wrought out, the victory
For thee before-hand
Fight on, for now thou canst not dye
if thou thy ground doe stand

Hold out, my soull, a litle while
and thou shalt win the day
Whilst fighting, Christ will on thee smile
and for thee, clear the way

Christ hath triumped over sin
already on the crose
From thence, my faith, and hope, doth spring
hee'l purg away my drose

The promise of the holy spirit
is mine, to mortifie
Sin, and quite for to disinherit
of its authority

thers nothing then imposible
to him that doth beleive
Doe thou, by faith, me inable
great things, for to acheive

Cov'nant priviledges, ar great
could we but sue the bond,
By faith, we might, our foes defeat,
and make them all, abscond
