Daffodils Over Night

(A Short Tale for Children)

Came by with ghostly tread,
And little lighted tapers,
When we had gone to bed,--
Past gravel-walk and garden,
As he was wont to go,
And lit these yellow lanterns,
Burning where thy blow.
