Denholm Dene

Chaffinches dropping on the oats
Toss up and down like little boats
And blue geraniums with their bill
Peck at the winds from cleuch and hill.

The winds blow down from Rubers Law
And sweeping over holm and shaw
The Teviot and its white townships
Break on that crag-perched tower, Fatlips.
