The Dreamer

He follows after Shadows, the King of Ireland's son;
His quest is never over, his goal is never won;
He combats those who conquer; he succours those who fail;
He holds the Gap of Danger; he dies in Barna Baile.

He follows after Shadows, he follows still the Lord, —
A dream his swiftest arrow, a song his sharpest sword, —
And striving not for glory, achieves victorious loss;
He follows after Shadows, and dies upon a Cross.
