Epitaph of Sir Foulk Hunkes

Epitaph of Sir Foulk Hunkes who died at Cliff the 6. of November-1657

Bred in the Schoole of Mars he did appeer
As born too 'neath noe other Star or Spher
Wilding his sword with that prudentiall care
As stil to Clayme in Acts of Honer Share
Yet with reflection on the Truth and word
As for that Cause alone to draw that sword
Though many wounds receivd He rests content
Knowing for Him more pretious blood was spent
