1. God of my life! What songs of praise To thy great name I owe?
2. Fast to the grave I sink; my life Down to the dust flowed fast,
Praise, like thy mercies, through my days Should swift and freely flow.
Thy power and grace to my relief, Came down with equal haste.

3. Thy word which kills and makes alive
Rebuked the mortal foe;
My Saviour came, bid me revive,
Take up my bed and go.

4. Lord to thy praise I consecrate
My spared renewed time;
Take hence my life an happier date
More heavenly, more sublime.
