Gold Glimmers and Fades

On the bedscreen's folding panels, gold glimmers and fades.
Clouds of hair verge upon the fragrant snow of cheeks
Languorous she rises, pencils the moth-eyebrows,
Dawdles over her toilet, slowly washing, combing.
Mirrors front and back reflect her flowers;
Face and blossoms illumine one the other.
Upon her new embroidered silken jacket
Pairs and pairs of partridges in gold.
