Hymn

Dear Lord, Whose serving-maiden
I hope one day to be,
Touch Thou mine ears that they may hear,
Mine eyes that they may see;
And let my words and thoughts shine white
With Thy divinity.

Dear Lord, Whose child I am, Whose Heir
I hope one day to be,
Give light to all beloved ones;
Give Bread to them, and me.
And keep all evil from us here,
And some beyond the sea.

Dear Lord, Whose faithful Singer
I hope one day to be,
Wing all my songs, as Thou canst do,
With Love and melody;
And bid them fly unto the day
That Thou hast need of me.
