I am going to tell you people

I am going to tell you people,
Perhaps you do not know;
We all should work together
And protect the C.I.O.

If men will stick together
And defend the union plan —
Go and ask your neighbor
If you do not understand.

Office men make good money
They are resting at their ease;
The laborer faces cold and rain
And mud up to his knees.

We have no use for weak-kneed men,
They're a nuisance in our band;
The C.I.O. will gain the day
If they press on hand in hand.

Union men should have a say
In what they receive each hour.
Factories cannot operate
Without the labor power.

If factory men would realize
And come to our conclusion,
Our country then would be at peace.
There would be no more confusion.

Franklin Roosevelt took his seat
About one year ago;
He cannot please the world,
That we all well know.

I esteem our worthy President,
He deserves congratulations;
He made a fight to put things right
In behalf of our great nation.

The blessed Lord is helping him
In all his undertakings.
His faithful wife stands by his side;
At times her heart is breaking.

He has given work to laboring men
To buy their daily bread;
Food and clothing does abound
The hungry must be fed.

We're on the verge of better times,
Business is improving,
Roosevelt is doing all he can
To keep the thing a-moving.

This great depression had to come,
Four years of tribulation;
It gives worry to our President,
It caused a great sensation.

Hoover held the reins four years,
That accounts for our condition.
We've got a man will firmly stand,
And work with great ambition.

If the union men will bravely stand
We're sure to have more money.
In three more years this good old land
Will flow with milk and honey.

The good Lord is with us every day
He shares in all our trouble.
This world is just a resting place,
Life is but a bubble.
