Classic Poem

Just now in wild, free mood I yearn,
But for what? — for Mount Emei in my own Shu;
I long to be with the madman of Chu,
To meet him in white clouds, endlessly far away
The times must be wrong! I grieve that I've missed mine,
And tears trickle down in an endless stream
I dreamed I climbed to the caves of Mount Sui,
Then to the south gathered herbs on Mount Wu,
Investigated the Basis, observed all things in Change,
Left the world, chasing a dragon in the clouds.
But when its undulations would seem to last forever,
I awoke I could not see it.
