From a Letter to Mrs Derwent Coleridge, 16 January 1852
Sing hey diddle diddle,
The Cat and the Fiddle,
I've found my Lloyd and Lamb !!!
The Moschus and Bion
I can't yet set eye on,
But 'tother is worth a fat Ram!
Lloyd and Lamb —
How happy I am!) —
Together with Coleridge are worth a fat Ram.
Sing hey diddle doxon
That good Mr Moxon
Declares there is nothing to pay
For the splendid attire
Which all must admire,
Of the Church and State vollum — hoor-ray!
Hoor — ray!
Nothing to pay!!
For the Church and State vollum in costly array.
My joy to complete
That book of " the Sweet "
" The Fall" — you remember the rest;
Enriched with his fine
Paw-writing divine
Has flown home from the Stutfield nest.
Flown from the nest
Where 'twas caressed —
Long may the author be happy and blest.
