Some are simple.
They just want the most basic of things.
I envy them in some ways
As they drink their bargain beers,
By the fire’s embers on logs,
Which glowingly dance,
Burning particles of debris off
Mouths which seem to constantly discuss
Trivial things like gardens and dogs
Eating burgers on thick white breaded sesame seeded buns
topped with melted American cheese
in the warmth of the late June summer breeze
perhaps happier overall because
they have few ambitions and needs,
An ability to relax and merely enjoy what they see
Those who are willing to accept
Whatever fate this world dismissively hands them,
To willingly exist as whatever this world tells them to be.
They are often warm, kind, modest and friendly people
Who can live in the present with ease,
But they are not my kind of people,
Not the type of people for me.
